2026 Mandatory Information Security Awareness Training

What is happening?

All UIC employees are required to complete the Annual Information Security Awareness Training as part of the UIC Information Technology Security Program.

Why is this happening?

This training is essential to comply with state and federal regulations and to enhance awareness of common security threats targeting the UIC community.

What do I need to know?

  • The training will be conducted using the KnowBe4 security awareness platform.
  • The training will consist of one module: 2026 KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training, focusing on:
    • Social Engineering
    • Phishing
    • Ransomware
    • Malicious Website Links
    • AI Threats
  • It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and can be done in one sitting or in segments.

What do I need to do?

  1. Complete the training by March 07, 2026 (within 1 month).
  2. Access the training at:
    • URL: go.uic.edu/securitytraining
    • Or type go.uic.edu/securitytraining into your browser.
  3. Complete the course during work hours or as directed by your supervisor.
  4. Finish early to avoid reminders sent to you and your supervisor.
