Collections & Access Explained

This is a collection of galleries which is meant to feature the best of LAS. These images will be available for viewing by anyone with a UIC netID and in some cases downloadable for promotional uses by UIC staff and faculty. It also makes use of specific keywords which can be helpful when searching for the right image(s).

This is a collection of galleries which includes the most recent additions to our library. These images will be available for viewing by those who work in LAS Administration, Advancement, Advising, or Marketing and Communication. It also makes use of specific keywords which can be helpful when searching for the right image(s).

This is a collection of galleries which includes content generally older than 3 years. These images will be available for viewing by those who work in LAS Administration, Advancement, Advising, or Marketing and Communication. Much of the content does not make use of our specific keyword list, so searching is best done by names of galleries or by words contained in the filenames.

It is not intended to be used for current marketing uses, but will be a useful way to track down materials which tell the stories of LAS over the years.

This is a collection of galleries which are intended to support the needs of website editors within LAS and its departments. These images will be available for viewing by those who have access as an editor in WordPress Red. The galleries are organized by functional use within the WordPress Red Theme and are sized correctly for adding directly to a website.

Additionally, there is a gallery of all of the current profile images which we have been cropped for use in a Red Profile page and can be searched by a person’s name or netid. The filenames should follow the standard naming convention of mynetid-profile.jpg

This is a collection of galleries which include the following:

• Full Sized Originals
• Red Profile Placeholders
• Red Ready Profiles
• Red Ready Profiles Archive

These images will be available for viewing and download by anyone with a UIC netID. This means that those including departments outside of LAS could get a profile photo for an affliation profile in another UIC college, or if campus news needs an original quality photo of a particular individual from LAS.

Update a Profile Photo (filling out the form will allow you to…)

• Provide the new photo
• Indicate which web profile should be updated
• Create a support ticket with the LAS web team
• Have a Red Ready version of the photo cropped and adjusted for exposure and color, if needed
• Receive notification after the photo has been added to the websites which need to be updated

We will offer the option for units within LAS to store a private collection of photos within PhotoShelter.

This will give safe, searchable storage for a collection of galleries of images and also when appropriate share those images with the LAS collections for Marketing and Communication needs to promote the College, its departments, news, research and areas of study.
